Tammy Abraham: ‘I Fell in Love with Villa’ on Emotional Return

Tammy Abraham has described his permanent return to Aston Villa as a dream come true, admitting he ‘fell in love with the club’ during his first spell.

The striker, who starred for Villa in the 2018/19 season while on loan from Chelsea, has rejoined as Unai Emery strengthens his attacking options for the second half of the campaign.

Speaking to VillaTV, Abraham said the move still feels surreal.

‘It still doesn’t feel real. Since the first time I arrived here, I fell in love with the club. Ever since I left, I’ve pretty much watched every game, so I’ve been keeping track,’ he explained.

Reflecting on his earlier spell, Abraham recalled the promotion-winning season under Dean Smith.

‘We had an amazing season, amazing outcome, and I always told myself that if I had to come back to England, Villa would be one of the special teams to return to. I spoke it into existence, so I’m happy to be here. So many great memories, and now I’m here to create even more.’

The forward added that he is eager to reconnect with fans at Villa Park.

‘I just can’t wait to meet everyone, to be back at Villa Park, seeing the crowd and so many familiar faces. It’s exciting.’
