Van Dijk, Szoboszlai and Salah Make Champions League History in Liverpool’s 6-0 Win

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has written his name into the UEFA Champions League record books, becoming the first central defender ever to provide three assists in a single game.

The Dutchman provided assists for Alexis Mac Allister and Federico Chiesa in the Reds’ 6-0 drubbing of Qarabag FK at Anfield on Wednesday night.

His performance underlined not only his defensive leadership but also his growing influence in attack.

Meanwhile, Dominik Szoboszlai continued his outstanding form in Europe, having now either scored or assisted in six consecutive Champions League matches for Liverpool.

His contributions span across fixtures against Eintracht Frankfurt, Real Madrid, PSV, Inter, Marseille, and Qarabag, showcasing his consistency and creative spark.

Mohamed Salah reached another milestone by making his 80th Champions League appearance for Liverpool, equalling the club record held by Jamie Carragher.

The achievement came on the same day Carragher celebrated his 48th birthday, adding a touch of symbolism to the occasion.
