‘A Little Here, A Little There, Progress is Happening’: Adegoke Confident of Revival After Indoor Season Gains in Germany 

Nigerian sprinter Enoch Adegoke has expressed confidence in his steady progress this indoor season, as he seeks to recapture the blistering form that made him a history-maker in 2021.

Adegoke opened his season with a time of 6.71 seconds before clocking 6.70 in his second meet, showing signs of gradual improvement.

‘A little here, a little there. Progress is happening. Trusting God, enjoying the process,” he shared on his Facebook page.

The 25-year-old first announced himself on the global stage in 2021 when he became the first Nigerian man in 25 years to qualify for and run in the 100m final at the Olympics.

That same season, he clinched his first national title, running 10 seconds flat at the Yabatech Sports Ground, the fastest winning time by a wholly home-based athlete at the time.

Adegoke also made history as the first fully home-based Nigerian athlete to qualify for the 100m event at the Olympics.

The following year, during his indoor debut in Germany, he set a lifetime best of 6.73 seconds. He has battling with the injury he copped in the final of the 100m event at the Tokyo Olympics.

Now, after battling setbacks, he is determined to return to his 2021 form.
