‘A Good Result, A Good Performance from the Team’: Lookman Reflects on Historic Atletico Win at Camp Nou

Ademola Lookman marked his 20th Champions League appearance, and his fifth for Atletico Madrid, as Diego Simeone’s side claimed a landmark 2-0 victory over Barcelona at Camp Nou, their first at the venue since 2006.
The Nigerian winger, who has netted seven times in the competition, played a key role in the first leg before being substituted in the second half.
Speaking to TNT Sports, Lookman praised the collective effort:
‘A good result, a good performance from the team, especially not to concede here. It shows the work everyone’s been doing and the togetherness,’ he said
He highlighted the importance of the game’s turning points, noting: ‘Scoring after they had a man sent off, I think that was key. Brilliant free-kick from Julián [Alvarez]. The timing of Alex’s [Alexander Sørloth] goal in the second half was also good.’
Looking ahead to the decisive second leg in Madrid, Lookman stressed the need for composure:
‘It’s going to be a massive challenge and a massive game, we know that. Calm heads [are needed], for sure. We’ll take each game as it comes.’
