Pep Admits: ‘No Margin for Error’ in Premier League Title Race

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has admitted that his side’s ‘only chance’ of lifting the Premier League trophy this season is to win all of their remaining matches.

City climbed to the top of the table with a tense 1-0 victory over Burnley, a result that also confirmed Burnley’s relegation back to the Championship. The win marked a pivotal moment in the title race, with Arsenal losing their grip on first place for the first time since September.

Speaking to Match of the Day, Guardiola acknowledged the pressure of the run-in and stressed the importance of consistency.

‘We played a really good game, unfortunately we missed a lot of chances. We defended better in the second half. It was such a demanding game on Sunday against Arsenal, and it is not easy after three days, but in the Premier League you have to adjust. We competed really well, but it’s a pity the chances we had,’ Guardiola said.

Looking ahead, the City boss was clear about the challenge:

‘Now we have the FA Cup on Saturday and after that we have five games. The only chance is to win all the games.’

With five league fixtures remaining, Guardiola’s side faces a demanding schedule and no margin for error as they chase another Premier League crown.
