FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifier: Falconets Begin Training in Ikenne Ahead of Malawi Clash

The Falconets, Nigeria’s U-20 women’s national team, have settled in Ijebu-Ode after three weeks of intensive camping in Abuja, as preparations intensify for their FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifying fixture against Malawi.

The team will hold training sessions at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo, with focus now firmly on match readiness.

Team officials report high morale among the players, who have shown strong determination and cohesion in the build-up to the crucial encounter.

Nigeria will host the first leg of the qualifier on Saturday, May 2, before traveling to Malawi for the return leg on May 9.

The Falconets are aiming for a convincing performance in the opener to secure a competitive advantage in their push for a place at the World Cup finals, scheduled to take place in Poland from September 5 to 26.

A delegation from Malawi has already arrived in Nigeria, setting the stage for what promises to be a tightly contested tie.
