‘Holy, Holy, Holy, Enugu Rangers, Another Champion!’: Flying Antelopes Crowned NPFL Champions After Victory in Lagos
Nwobodo’s Brace Secures Ninth League Title for Rangers; Enyimba Escape Relegation, Shooting Stars Clinch Confed Cup Ticket

Enugu Rangers have been crowned champions of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) for the ninth time after defeating Ikorodu City 2-1 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
Two goals from Chidiebere Nwobodo, one in each half, proved decisive for the Flying Antelopes, who overcame a spirited challenge from the hosts to secure the historic triumph.
Despite Rivers United’s emphatic 3-0 victory over Katsina United in Port Harcourt, Rangers’ result ensured they pulled clear at the top of the table to clinch the title.
The atmosphere in Lagos was electric as the visitors from Enugu delivered a performance worthy of champions, igniting chants of ‘Holy, Holy, Holy, Enugu Rangers, Another Champion!’ among their jubilant supporters.
Elsewhere, Shooting Stars sealed a continental ticket despite suffering defeat in Minna to Niger Tornadoes, who themselves escaped relegation courtesy of the result.
Enyimba of Aba also survived the drop with a crucial home win, while Remo Stars’ fate hangs in the balance as they await the outcome of the Kun Khalifat vs Wikki Tourist clash in Owerri, having conceded a late equaliser against Bendel Insurance.
