Hulk Hogan’s Death Ruled Natural After Year-Long Police Investigation
Authorities have officially closed the investigation into the death of wrestling icon Hulk Hogan, confirming that the 71-year-old star died of natural causes.
The Clearwater Police Department announced that the case involving Hogan, born Terry Gene Bollea, has been ‘classified as a natural death’ following a year-long review of medical records, witness statements, and surveillance footage.
Police officers were dispatched to Hogan’s residence at 10:21 a.m. on July 24, 2025, after reports of a medical emergency. Despite receiving cardiopulmonary resuscitation and being rushed to Morgan Plant Hospital, Hogan was pronounced dead at 11:17 a.m.
Medical documents revealed that Hogan suffered an acute myocardial infarction, commonly known as a heart attack. He also had a history of atrial fibrillation and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), a condition that had not been publicly disclosed during his lifetime.
Specialists concluded that these illnesses contributed to his declining health but emphasized that his death was ‘exclusively from a natural illness, without any significant traumatic or toxicological contributing factors.’
The investigation drew attention after Hogan’s daughter, Brooke, questioned whether an autopsy had been performed and expressed doubts about the circumstances surrounding his death. Authorities stressed that no evidence of foul play was found.
Beyond the medical findings, Hogan’s life was marked by decades of physical strain from his wrestling career. He underwent numerous surgeries on his back, hips, knees, and neck, often acknowledging in interviews that his body had paid a heavy price for his fame.
In the weeks before his death, rumors circulated about worsening health, though those close to him insisted he was recovering from recent medical procedures and had future work plans.
