USADA Hands ‘Nigerian’ Monzavous ‘Jolomi’ Edwards Two-Year Ban
The United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has announced that former sprinter and YouTuber Monzavous ‘Rae’ Edwards has accepted a two-year suspension after being found guilty of a complicity violation.
Edwards, 45, introduced sprinter Marvin Bracy-Williams to an individual he believed to be a doctor for the purpose of obtaining testosterone.
The violation initially carried a four-year ban, but USADA reduced the sanction based on Edwards’ early admission and substantial assistance to federal investigators.
The case began in early 2024 when a whistleblower reported Bracy-Williams’s testosterone use, leading to a targeted out-of-competition test that returned positive.
Federal authorities separately investigated Paul Askew, the man who supplied the testosterone after Edwards facilitated the introduction.
Askew pleaded guilty under the Rodchenkov Anti-Doping Act on May 26, 2026.
Edwards, once a 10.00-second 100m sprinter, was among American athletes recruited by Solomon Ogba to represent Nigeria in the 2010s.
He was given the Nigerian name ‘Jolomi’ and competed for Nigeria at the African Championships. In 2014, he won bronze in the men’s 100m and was part of the 4x100m relay team that claimed gold.
