Nicolas Jackson Delays Chelsea Exit Decision Pending Alonso Meeting
Nicolas Jackson has made clear he wants to hold talks with new Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso before making any decision on his future at Stamford Bridge.
The Senegal forward spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Bayern Munich after falling out of favour under Enzo Maresca.
Despite flashes of promise in Bavaria, Bayern opted not to activate the purchase clause of around £70 million, having already paid an €18.5 million loan fee. Jackson returned to London before joining Senegal’s squad for the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Since his 2023 move from Villarreal, Jackson has scored 30 goals across two seasons for Chelsea but struggled to convince both Mauricio Pochettino and Maresca of his consistency.
Alonso, however, has offered every player a clean slate, and Jackson is determined to prove his worth during preseason.
According to reports, several Premier League and European clubs are monitoring Jackson’s situation, but both player and manager want to delay any decision until they have worked together for a few weeks next month.
If Jackson does eventually push for an exit, Bayern are unlikely to revive their interest, and Chelsea may need to lower their asking price to around £50 million for the 25-year-old striker.
