‘The Best Thing for Everyone Is a Transfer: Julián Álvarez Pushes for Atlético Exit

Julián Álvarez has confirmed he intends to leave Atlético Madrid this summer, telling ESPN that a transfer is ‘the best thing for everyone’ as he looks to ‘fulfill my dream.’
The 26-year-old forward, fresh from Argentina’s 2-0 World Cup victory over Austria, revealed he has already spoken with Atlético officials about his decision.
‘I can’t hide either. I try to be an honest person. I spoke with the people at the club I needed to speak with. The best thing for everyone is a transfer, and I want to fulfill my dream,’ Álvarez said.
Álvarez has attracted interest from several top European clubs, most notably Barcelona, who are searching for a replacement for Robert Lewandowski.
Real Madrid even made a headline-grabbing €150 million bid for the striker, a move promised by club president Florentino Pérez during his election campaign, but Atlético rejected the offer.
