Henry Onyekuru Exits Genclerbirligi in €940,000 Settlement

Turkish Super Lig club Genclerbirligi have mutually terminated the contract of Nigeria international winger Henry Onyekuru following discussions with the player’s representatives.

The agreement brings an end to Onyekuru’s time with the Turkish side after just one season, with reports indicating that the settlement package is worth €940,000.

The compensation reportedly covers €240,000 in outstanding wages from last season, along with €700,000 for the remaining period of his contract. The payment is expected to be completed in instalments over six months.

Onyekuru, 29, joined Genclerbirligi on a free transfer last summer after leaving Saudi Arabian club Al-Fayha, arriving with significant experience from spells across Europe and the Middle East.

The Super Eagles winger made 17 league appearances for the Red and Blacks before the club confirmed his departure.

The termination means Onyekuru will now look for a new challenge as he continues his career, having previously represented clubs including Galatasaray, Monaco and Olympiacos during his professional career.
