Karim Adeyemi Set for Barcelona Move as ‘Ibadan Boy’ Lands in Spain

Germany international Karim Adeyemi has arrived in Barcelona ahead of the completion of his proposed transfer from Borussia Dortmund to the reigning LaLiga champions.
The 24-year-old forward is expected to become Barcelona’s latest summer signing after the Spanish club reached an agreement with Borussia Dortmund for his transfer.
The deal is reported to be worth an initial €22 million, with a further €7 million in performance-related add-ons linked to appearances and title success.
Adeyemi is also understood to have agreed personal terms on a five-year contract after making Barcelona his preferred destination once the club expressed interest in signing him.
His arrival in the Catalan city is the clearest indication yet that the transfer is entering its final stages, with an official announcement expected soon.
The move will see Adeyemi become Barcelona’s latest attacking addition following the arrival of England international Anthony Gordon earlier in the transfer window.
Although he represents Germany at international level, Adeyemi has strong Nigerian roots. He was born in Munich to a Nigerian father and a Romanian mother.
His father hails from Ibadan in Oyo State, earning the pacey forward the affectionate nickname, “Ibadan Boy,” among many Nigerian football fans.
