Adeshina Targets Landmark Commonwealth High Jump Gold
Nigeria’s Temitope Adeshina will bid to make history when she competes in the women’s high jump final at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games on Tuesday evening.
The Nigerian is aiming to become the first athlete, male or female, to win a Commonwealth Games high jump title for Nigeria.

Adeshina enters the competition as one of the leading contenders after enjoying an impressive 2026 season.
Her consistency at heights above 1.90 metres has established her among the world’s rising high jumpers and strengthened her credentials heading into Glasgow.
However, she faces a formidable field led by Australia’s Eleanor Patterson, the reigning world champion and one of the most accomplished jumpers in the competition.
