CANAL+ Secures Exclusive UEFA Club Competition Rights for SuperSport Until 2031
CANAL+ has strengthened its position as the home of premium football in Sub-Saharan Africa after securing the exclusive broadcast rights to all UEFA men’s club competitions through 2031.
The new four-season agreement, which takes effect from the 2027/28 season, guarantees that SuperSport will continue to deliver live and exclusive coverage of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League to DStv and GOtv subscribers across more than 40 countries in the region.
Under the deal, SuperSport will remain the exclusive broadcaster of UEFA club competitions in English- and Portuguese-speaking Africa, while full UEFA Champions League coverage will also return to CANAL+ Sport channels in French-speaking Africa alongside the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League.
The acquisition further strengthens CANAL+’s extensive sports portfolio, which already features some of the world’s biggest football competitions, including the Premier League, LALIGA EA SPORTS, Ligue 1, the Betway Premiership and the ongoing CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2026.
Commenting on the agreement, CANAL+ Chief Executive Officer Maxime Saada described the renewal as another milestone in the company’s commitment to delivering world-class sporting content across the continent.

The agreement ensures that football fans across Sub-Saharan Africa will continue to enjoy uninterrupted live coverage of Europe’s elite club competitions on SuperSport when the new rights cycle begins in 2027, reinforcing CANAL+’s commitment to bringing the biggest sporting events to audiences across the region.
