Jemegah Gets Media Role as Senate President U-18 Unity Cup Holds in Akwa Ibom

Vanguard Newspapers Deputy Sports Editor, Emma Jemegah, has been appointed Electronic and Media Coordinator for the third edition of the Senate President Under-18 National Unity Cup scheduled to hold in Akwa Ibom State between October and November 2026.
The appointment is part of a wide-ranging constitution of committees by the Grassroots Sports Federation (GRASOF) as the organisers intensify preparations for the youth football tournament, which is aimed at promoting grassroots football development, youth empowerment, talent discovery and national unity.
In a letter conveying the appointment, GRASOF President, Hon. John Bassey Ekpenyong, said Jemegah was selected in recognition of his contributions to sports development and previous involvement in GRASOF activities.
‘We’re pleased to appoint you the Electronic and Media Coordinator of the 3rd Senate President Under-18 Annual Unity Cup for your outstanding contributions to the development of sports and GRASOF activities in particular,’ the letter stated.
Adede Kufre Inima will serve as Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, with Winner Akan as Secretary, while Ahmed Tanko heads the Technical Committee. Ada Gwegwe is the Organising Secretary, Alhaji Haruna Ningi heads Logistics and Patrick Ndubuisi will serve as Public Relations Officer.
Other members of the various committees include Agbana Ademola, Screening; Comrade Clifford Simon, Protocol; Hajiya Hauwa Lawan, Women Affairs; Harrison Iyoanama, Awards; Kingsley Morrison, member; Morris Silas, Accommodation; Engr. Joshua Chidozie Echefu, Clubs Representative; Esin Esin, Secretariat; Nurse Ifiok Ekong, Medical; Gbenga Okenla, Contact and Sponsorship; Etido Inyang, Security; Abubakar Abdullahi, New Media; Comrade Ita Peters, Mobilisation; and Hon. Michael Ukpong, Venue.
The Local Organising Committee is responsible for coordinating local arrangements and supporting the successful staging of the tournament, including logistics, venue preparations, protocol, administration, publicity and technical coordination.
The constitution of the committee marks a major step in GRASOF’s preparations for the third edition of the tournament, which seeks to harness grassroots football as a platform for talent discovery, youth development, peace, unity and national integration.
Ekpenyong expressed confidence that the committee, under the leadership of Inima, would work closely with relevant stakeholders to deliver a successful and memorable tournament in Akwa Ibom State.
