Millwall: It’s £20m Or No Deal for Femi Azeez

Millwall manager Alex Neil has warned clubs interested in Nigerian winger Femi Azeez that the Championship club will not be forced into selling the player cheaply.

The Nigeria international has reportedly attracted interest from Premier League newcomers Hull City and a number of European clubs after impressing for Millwall in the Championship last season.

Azeez joined the Lions from Reading for just over £1 million in 2024 and has since established himself as an important player for the club. Millwall are now understood to value the winger at around €20 million.

Neil said the club had already rejected interest in Azeez during the January transfer window and insisted Millwall remain in a strong position because they are under no pressure to sell their key players.

‘When the window’s open I don’t think we ever get distracted. Good players attract interest, it’s as simple as that,’ Neil told NewsAtDen.

‘It’s no secret that in January Femi had interest and bids made for him. Jimmy, supporting the team, the club, myself, decided he wasn’t taking any bids for any of our key players at that moment, which was great. It allowed us to then go finish third and Femi was a fundamental part of that.’

Neil acknowledged that every player has a price but made it clear that Millwall will not accept an offer below their valuation.

‘What I will say is that if anybody is trying to undercut us or go cheap on it, then we don’t need to sell anybody. It puts us in a strong position in that sense,’ he said.

The Millwall boss also expressed surprise that Azeez has not attracted more serious offers, pointing to the winger’s goals and assists as evidence of his value.
