Turkish Pundit: ‘If Arsenal Are Serious, Osimhen Will Go’
Galatasaray’s 2-2 draw with Çorum FK on the opening day of the Turkish Super Lig season has sparked criticism of the club’s transfer strategy, with Turkish football analyst Serdar Ali Çelikler warning that Victor Osimhen could leave if Arsenal make a serious move for the Nigeria striker.
Speaking on Neo Spor’s YouTube channel, Çelikler questioned Galatasaray’s failure to secure another centre-forward before the start of the campaign, arguing that the club are overly reliant on Osimhen in attack.
‘The league has started. It is not explainable that you did not have a second striker on August 14,’ Çelikler said, pointing to Fenerbahce and other Turkish rivals who have greater depth in attack.
The analyst also criticised Galatasaray’s management amid growing frustration among supporters, who reportedly chanted for the board to resign during the draw with Çorum FK.
Çelikler argued that the club’s inability to sell players is a bigger concern, claiming Galatasaray had repeatedly attempted to put Gabriel Sara and Barış Alper Yılmaz on the transfer market without success.
He also questioned manager Okan Buruk’s handling of the club’s international players, particularly the timing of their return to pre-season preparations.
On Osimhen’s future, Çelikler believes a serious approach from Arsenal would be difficult for the Nigerian to reject.
‘There is no possibility that any Nigerian footballer will say ‘No’ to England, especially Arsenal. If Arsenal is serious, Osimhen will go,’ he said.
