Coventry Agree Deal to Sign Forest’s Taiwo Awoniyi
Nigeria Striker Set to Leave for Newly Promoted Premier League Side

Coventry City have agreed a deal with Nottingham Forest for Nigeria striker Taiwo Awoniyi, with the forward expected to join the newly promoted Premier League side on a permanent transfer subject to a medical.
Awoniyi joined Nottingham Forest in 2022 following the club’s promotion to the Premier League and has spent four years at the City Ground.
He now looks set to remain in the English top flight, with Coventry having secured promotion back to the Premier League last season.
The 28-year-old was facing a difficult battle for playing time at Forest, where Chris Wood and Igor Jesus are pushing for the starting centre-forward role, while Arnaud Kalimuendo has returned following a loan spell at Eintracht Frankfurt.
Awoniyi’s departure would bring an end to his four-year Forest spell and give the Nigeria international an opportunity to relaunch his career with Coventry as the club prepares for its return to the Premier League.
