Akor Adams Makes Dream Venezia Debut With Two Goals And An Assist

Nigeria international Akor Adams enjoyed a dream competitive debut for Venezia, scoring twice and providing an assist as the Italian side defeated Modena 3-2 in the Coppa Italia Round of 64.

Adams played a decisive role in the victory, quickly establishing himself as a key attacking figure for the Winged Lions.

Despite Venezia making a difficult start to the encounter, the former striker’s contribution helped the hosts secure their place in the next round.

‘I am happy to be here and to represent this club. It was a difficult start, even though we were in control of the game, but my goals then helped us secure the victory, which is what matters,’ Adams said in an interview published on Venezia’s official website.

The Nigeria international also expressed his excitement about Venezia’s project, revealing that discussions with sporting director Antonelli convinced him about the club’s ambitions.

Adams believes the team can build something special under coach Giovanni Stroppa.

‘We can build something great here, and we have an excellent coach and excellent teammates. Coach Stroppa always pushes us to do more,’ he said.

Adams also praised the atmosphere at the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo, describing the iconic stadium as unique and admitting that he was impressed by the supporters and the distinctive experience of arriving at the venue.

‘I want to be a focal point for the team and always look to score,’ Adams added, underlining his ambition to play a leading role in Venezia’s campaign.
