Nwaiwu breaks silence on Trabzonspor transfer claims
Nigerian defender insists focus is on football amid reports over his future
Trabzonspor defender Chibuike Nwaiwu has addressed reports surrounding his future at the Turkish club, insisting that his focus remains on football despite growing transfer speculation.
The Nigerian spoke after Trabzonspor’s 2-1 victory over Başakşehir on Sunday and acknowledged reports linking him with a possible move away from the club.
Nwaiwu, however, stressed that he remains under contract with the Super Lig side and will leave any decision about his future to the club.
‘I saw the news too. I want to focus on my football, the game I play. I already have an existing contract at Trabzonspor. After that, it’s up to the club’s decision,’ Nwaiwu said.
The 23-year-old started the victory over Başakşehir and helped Trabzonspor secure their first three points of the season.
