Saka: Arteta Has Got Everyone Dreaming Again

Bukayo Saka has hailed Mikel Arteta for transforming Arsenal and ‘getting everyone dreaming again’ after the Spaniard agreed a new contract with the Premier League champions.

Arteta has agreed to extend his stay at Arsenal after leading the club to their first Premier League title in 22 years last season.

Saka, who has been at Arsenal throughout Arteta’s reign, believes the manager deserves the new deal after helping reshape the club.

‘Special manager and very important to the club,’ Saka told talkSPORT.

‘Hence why they gave him a new deal because he deserves it. And yeah, he’s really transformed the club and got everyone dreaming again.

‘So credit to him, he deserves it. I’m happy for him.’

Arteta took charge of Arsenal in December 2019 and has since overseen the club’s transformation into Premier League champions.

Saka made his Arsenal debut before Arteta’s arrival and has remained a key figure throughout the manager’s tenure.

The 44-year-old’s previous contract was due to expire at the end of the season, but Arsenal had been keen to secure his future.

Arteta had previously indicated that there was no concern over his contract situation, saying the club shared the same ambition and would resolve the matter when the time was right.

His new agreement now keeps the manager at the Emirates beyond the end of the season as Arsenal look to build on their Premier League triumph.
