Usor: This One Means A Lot After Dream Super Eagles Debut

Moses Usor described his Super Eagles debut as a dream moment after scoring the winning goal in Nigeria’s 2-1 comeback victory over Madagascar in their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Uyo on Friday.

The 24-year-old forward came off the bench in the 61st minute, replacing Samuel Chukwueze, and needed just four minutes to make a decisive impact.

Madagascar had taken the lead through Kari Eshan in the 16th minute before George Ilenikhena restored parity shortly before half-time.

Usor then completed Nigeria’s comeback with a composed finish to give Eric Chelle’s side all three points in their opening Group L qualifier.

The LASK forward celebrated his match-winning debut on social media, expressing gratitude to the coaching staff, his teammates and the supporters for their backing.

‘What a moment! Grateful for my scoring debut and for the trust and support from the coaching staff, my teammates, and the fans. This one means a lot!’ Usor wrote on Instagram.

Usor joined LASK in January 2024 and has made a strong start to the current season, scoring twice and providing three assists in seven league appearances.

Overall, he has made 117 appearances for the Austrian club across all competitions, scoring 24 goals and providing 19 assists.

His instant impact against Madagascar could give Chelle another attacking option as Nigeria prepare for their next Group L qualifier against Guinea-Bissau on Tuesday.
