‘We Want to Win All Our Games’: Akor Adams Backs Eagles for Bissau Battle

Super Eagles forward Akor Adams says Nigeria are confident of securing another victory when they face Guinea-Bissau in Tuesday’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Bissau.

Adams, who started Nigeria’s 2-1 comeback win over Madagascar in Uyo on Friday, said the Super Eagles are determined to maintain their winning start and collect maximum points from their second Group L fixture.

The Venezia forward, speaking as the Nigerian delegation departed for Bissau, insisted the team’s ambition is to win every game in the qualifying campaign.

‘It was a very tough game against Madagascar, and we had to dig deep to get the win. It’s always important that we start on a good note,’ Adams said.

Nigeria fell behind against Madagascar but recovered to level before half-time before completing the comeback in the second half.

Adams said conceding early did not shake his belief in the team.

‘I have supreme confidence in this squad. When we conceded, we knew we had to respond and fight back. I had no fears at all about the outcome of the game,’ he said.

The striker added that the difficulty of the Madagascar game was a reminder that Nigeria cannot afford to underestimate any opponent in the qualifiers.

‘I don’t think any game in this qualifying series will be easy, even the Tanzanians, who have already qualified. Every game will be difficult,’ Adams said.

With Guinea-Bissau also opening their campaign with a victory, Adams knows Tuesday’s encounter will provide another stern test for the Super Eagles.

‘We want to win all our games, and the Guinea-Bissau game is no different. We’re going there full of confidence, hoping to get the three points,’ he said.

‘Like I said before, I trust this team, and together we’re going to fight to bring glory to Nigeria and qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations.’

Adams was a constant threat against Madagascar despite failing to find the net and will be hoping to open his scoring account when Nigeria take on the Wild Dogs at the 24 de Setembro Stadium.
