Iheanacho arrives, 22 Eagles now in camp for Algeria friendly
Uzoho, Duru expected to hit camp Wednesday
Kelechi Iheanacho has finally arrived the Super Eagles camp in Constantine, Algeria three days after his Leicester City teammate, Wilfred Ndidi joined the team.
Both players were in action on Saturday in the Foxes’ 6-2 demolition by Tottenham Hotspur and no reason has been given for the forward’s late arrival.
The 26 year old’s arrival has now brought the total number of players in camp to 22 with just the duo of goalkeeper Francis Uzoho and left back Ebube Duru yet to arrive.
Duru is a late invitee for the game after Villarreal winger, Samuel Chukwueze pulled out of the team and the Rivers United player is expected to arrive the team’s camp later today.
The Super Eagles will play a double-header against the Desert Foxes of Algeria as they intensify preparations for the qualifiers for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Nigeria senior national team failed to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup which starts in November in Qatar.
The 22 players in camp Maduka Okoye, William Troost-Ekong, Kenneth Omeruo, Chidozie Awaziem, Ola Aina, Calvin Bassey, Zaidu Sanusi, Kevin Akpoguma and Valentine Ozornwafor
Others are Wilfred Ndidi, Frank Onyeka, Alex Iwobi, Raphael Onyedika, Moses Simon, Taiwo Awoniyi, Chidera Ejuke, Cyriel Dessers, Terem Moffi, Ademola Lookman, Adeleye Adebayo, Godwin Saviour, Kelechi Iheanacho.
