Ebere Eze nets first Premier League goal of season

Eberechi Eze says he needed to be calm and composed before scoring Crystal Palace’s second goal of the game after coming from behind to beat Leeds 2-1 at Selhurst Park.

It was the Nigerian’s first Premier League goal of the seaosn in eight appearances and it proved to be the match winner.

‘Obviously I’ve gone past the player and it’s just me and the ‘keeper,’ he said. ‘To be calm and be composed is all I wanted to do and I put it into the corner, which is good.

‘It’s been a while. We’ve been working hard and putting in the performances and it’s good to get rewarded today,’ the Nigeria-born midfielder told Skysports after the game.

The goal was also his sixth in 55 Premier League appearances since he made his debut in the competition in the 2020/21 season when he scored four times in 34 appearances.

The 24 year old has now featured 62 times for the Eagles since he moved from Championships side, Queens Park Rangers in August 2020 to the Selhurst Park.

He scored six times and bagged nine assists.
