Ajax, RC Lens interested in Chuba Akpom

Dutch Eredivise side, Ajax and Ligue 1 club, RC Lens are showing strong interest in Middlesbrough striker Chuba Akpom.

Ajax Technical director, Sven Mislintat and the Akpom, according to a report in Voetbal International know each other from their time at Arsenal

The Nigerian who scored 28 goals in 38 Championship appearances for Middlesbrough last season could be reuniting with Mislintat at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

Akpom is also wanted by RC Lens who have reportedly submitted a bid for the 27 year old Nigerian.

The Championships’ top scorer and player of the season, according to Sky Sports News, have submitted a bid worth £8m for Akpom to replace Lois Openda who has moved to Bundesliga side, RB Leipzig.

Middlesbrough, according to reprots do not intend to sell the former Arsenal man until a replacement has been secured, and
have set their asking price at £15m.

Akpom has entered the final year of his contract.
