Alex Iwobi seeking for first goal in 12 games against Tottenham

As Everton host Spurs Monday night at Goodison Park

Alex Iwobi will seeking to either score or provide an assist in 12 games against Tottenham Hotspur who will visit Goodison Park on Monday night.

The Nigerian has neither scored nor bagged an assists against the north London side in 11 games across all competitions and he will be looking to end that drought on Monday night.

Iwobi played his first game in the Premier League against Tottenham in a 1-1 draw with Arsenal in November 2016 with the 26 year old featuring for 70 minutes.

Since that November day, the Nigerian has featured eight more times against Spurs, winning just twice.

A goal against Tottenham Monday night will not only be his first against the club but also his first in just over five months for the Toffees in Premier League this season.

The former Arsenal player has not scored in the competition since last October when he netted Everton’s only goal in a 2-1 loss to Manchester United at Goodison Park.

If he scores, it will his second of the season for Everton and 17th in the competition in 212 games.

If he bags an assist, it will be his seventh this term, his highest in a single season and one more than he provided in 35 games in the 2018/19 season.

It will also put him just two assists shy of Nwankwo Kanu, the legendary Nigerian who has provided the most assists in Premier League history.
