Alex Iwobi Turns 30: Nigerian Midfielder Celebrates Landmark Birthday With Historic EPL Firsts

Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi is celebrating his 30th birthday, marking the milestone with a Premier League career defined by a string of historic ‘firsts’ for Nigerian footballers.
Iwobi remains the first and only Nigerian to record at least 30 goals (35) and 30 assists (38) in the Premier League, underlining his dual impact as both scorer and creator.
The Fulham midfielder has now played 318 matches and logged over 20,000 minutes, making him the first and only Nigerian to reach both milestones.
Iwobi is Nigeria’s all-time Premier League assists leader and the joint record holder for most assists in a single season (7), a feat he shares with Osaze Odemwingie.
He has completed 10,306 passes and counting, showcasing his consistency and creativity in midfield across spells at Arsenal, Everton, and Fulham.
Remarkably, despite playing more than 300 matches, Iwobi has never been shown a red card, highlighting his professionalism and discipline.
Iwobi is one of only two players to feature in every game of a Premier League season, and the only one to achieve that distinction twice.
