All eyes on Ahmed Musa, Amuneke as NPFL enters match week six
All eyes will be on Katsina and Owerri on Sunday Octpber 6, 2024 as the duo of Ahmed Musa and Emmanuel Amuneke take centre stage in the match week six of the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.
At the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina where Kano Pillars play their home games, the man who spectators and those watching on livestream will be eagerly waiting to see will be former Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa who will likely make his third debut for the groundnut pyramid city.
Musa, top scorer in the Nigerian league in the 2009/2010 season with 18 goals, has rejoined for the club that launched him into international stardom.
The former Super Eagles captain will not be alone as another former Nigerian international, Shehu Abdulahi is also likely to make his second debut for Kano Pillars when they play host to Sunshine Stars of Akure.
Kano Pillars have won only once this season and have lost their last two games including the 2-0 loss at home to Remo Stars and will be hoping Musa and Abdulahi can steer them back to the a winning path.
At the Dan Anyiam stadium in Owerri, former Nigeria winger extraordinary, Amuneke will be aiming for his first win in the NPFL after he signed on as the coach of Heartland at the start of the season.
Amuneke has lost three of his four games this season including the opening 3-1 loss to Enyimba in Owerri.
