Amusan runs 12.89 to make African Games history

Tobi Amusan Wednesday  made history as the first woman to win three straight African Games 100m hurdles title.

The 26 year old false started in the final of the event at the sports ground of the University of Ghana but was only flashed a yellow card and allowed to compete .

Amusan rose from the false start scare and fear of disqualification toeventually storm home first in 12.89 after the restart to make history as the first sprint hurdler to win the the 100m hurdles three consecutive times and the third Nigerian to win an African Games event three straight times after Vivian Chukwuemeka (shot put) and Adewale Olukoju (discus throw).
