Amusan out of Diamond League meeting in Suzhou

Tobi Amusan looks to have opted out of the second Diamond League meeting of the year on Chinese soil as her name was conspicuously missing in the confirmed list of world class sprint hurdlers for the Suzhou meeting on April 27, 2024.

The Nigerian will be in Xiamen for the opening leg of the 2024 Diamond League Meetings on April 20 when she begins her title defence. She will face a line up that includes reigning Olympic champion, Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, reigning World champion, Danielle Williams and reigning World indoor champion, Deyvnne Charlton.

The trio of Camacho-Quinn, Williams and Charlton will remain in China while Amusan, barring any last minute deal, will be heading back to either Europe or the USA.

Amusan, the 2022 World champion holds the world record at 12.12 and has been tipped as one of the athletes to battle Camacho-Quinn for the 100m hurdles Olympic gold in Paris this August.
