Amusan to begin Diamond League 100m hurdles title defence from lane four in Xiamen
World 100m hurdles record holder Tobiloba Amusan will begin her Diamond League title defence from lane four, sandwiched between reigning world champion, Danielle Willaims in lane three and reigning Olympic champion, Jasmine Camacho-Quinn in lane five.
Reigning world indoor champion and record holder, Devynee Charlton is drawn in lane six.
Amusan won her third Diamond League 100m hurdles title in Eugene, Oregon, USA last September and the 27 year old will be aiming for a fourth straight title win come this September in Brussels, Belgium.
To qualify for the final, she will need to get enough points as there is no wild card for defending champions.
The Nigerian will be keen to become only the second woman after Dawn Nelseon Harper to win the event four straight times.
Amusan will also have the 12.20 Diamond League record in her sight and probably run another world record to fulfil the prediction of Colin Jackson, a former world 110m record holder who believes the Nigerian can run 12 seconds flat following her incredible 12.12 world record run on her way to winning the world title in Eugene in 2022.
Also at stake for the reigning Nigeria, African Championships, African Games and Commonwealth Games champion to break at 12.17pm Saturday is the 13.00 meeting record set last year by China’s Lin Yuwei.
