Amusan Tops 2024 World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold 60m Hurdles Standing

With one win and one second placed finish, Nigeria’s Oluwatobiloba Amusan is firmly sitting top of the 60m hurdles standing at the 2024 World Athletics
Indoor Tour Gold, the highest series of international indoor track and field meetings.

The 26 year old has garnered 17 points, seven more than Tia Jones, the American who denied her the chance of a second straight win in Boston on Sunday after
the Nigerian sped to a first place finish at the Astana indoor meet in Astana, Kazkhstan

Amusan, 26, rewrote the African 60m hurdles record (7.77) she set a week earlier with an improved 7.75 run but it was not enough to secure the first position
and the maximum 10 points on offer as Jones was faster with an incredible 7.72 lifetime best, meeting record and world lead.

With four more meets left before the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, Amusan is on course to becoming the sprint hurdler with the
most points in the 60m hurdles and will be declared the winner and awarded a USD$10,000 bonus.

She will also be offered a wild card entry for the World Athletics Indoor Championships Glasgow 24.

Amusan will thus become the first Nigerian to win a World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold trophy and its outdoor version, the Diamond League which she has won
three times.
