Arbeloa: Fulham Keen To Extend Calvin Bassey Contract

Fulham have opened talks to extend Calvin Bassey’s contract, head coach Alvaro Arbeloa has confirmed.
The 26-year-old defender has made 102 Premier League appearances for the Whites since arriving at Craven Cottage in 2023.
Arbeloa described Bassey as one of the best centre-backs in the world and a key leader in his squad.
‘I’ve been talking about Calvin with the club and one of our goals is renewing his contract, because he’s, for me, right now, he’s one of the best centre-backs, not just in the Premier League, in the world,’ Arbeloa said.
‘He’s one of our captains and he’s been one of our best players on the pitch, and for me he’s one of the best centre-backs in the world.
‘So I think he has to stay with us because he’s happy. I think he’s enjoying this season and obviously he’s one of our targets, is to renew his contract, ‘he added.
Bassey has established himself as a regular starter and one of Fulham’s most consistent performers since his arrival two years ago.
