‘Are You Tottenham in Disguise?’ Brighton Fans Mock Arsenal

Brighton fans mocked Arsenal with chants of ‘Are you Tottenham in disguise?’ during Saturday’s Premier League clash after the Gunners suffered a shock 3-0 defeat.

The chant was aimed at Arsenal after Brighton produced a dominant display to end the visitors’ nine-game winning run across all competitions.

Arsenal went into the game unbeaten and looking to maintain their impressive start to the season, but Brighton stunned them with three unanswered goals.

Pascal Gross opened the scoring in the 31st minute before Charalampos Kostoulas doubled Brighton’s advantage before half-time.

Chema Andres then completed the rout with a header in the 57th minute.

The Brighton supporters seized the opportunity to mock Arsenal by comparing their performance to that of Tottenham Hotspur, one of the club’s biggest rivals.

The chant drew a reaction from Arsenal supporter and media personality Piers Morgan, who described it as ‘the ultimate, and very accurate on today’s performance, insult.’

The defeat was Arsenal’s first of the season and ended a nine-match winning streak in all competitions.

Brighton’s impressive victory also moved them into third place before the international break as they celebrated their 125th anniversary in style.

Arsenal, meanwhile, missed the opportunity to equal a 123-year-old record and were left to reflect on a first defeat that came in emphatic fashion.
