Arsenal 2-1 Aston Villa: Jesus sets Gunners’ goal record, maintains perfect record

Gabriel scored his third goal in five Premier League appearances to help Arsenal maintain their 100% record.

The Brazilian scored the Gunners’ first goal on 30 minutes to give Mikel Arteta’s men a first half lead.

Granit Xhaka’s shot takes a slight deflection at the near post and Emi Martinez fumbles the ball, caught by the little change in direction, and Gabriel Jesus is there to gobble up the loose ball.

Jesus has now been directly involved in six goals in his first five Premier League appearances for Arsenal and it is a
club record in the competition, overtaking Mesut Özil (five).

Arsenal won the game 2-1 and the result also preserved a perfect record for the Brazilian signed in the summer from Manchester City.

Jesus is yet to lose a single Premier League match in which he’s found the net (49 – W45 D3).

He has now scored 61 times in 164 Premier League wins and has won 125 of those games, losing only 19.
