Arsenal begin title defence as Premier League kicks off live on DStv, GOtv

The new Premier League season kicks off this weekend with defending champions Arsenal beginning their title defence against newly promoted Coventry City, as football fans across Nigeria prepare for a packed opening round live on SuperSport on DStv and GOtv.
Arsenal open the campaign on Friday at 9:00pm when they welcome Coventry City to the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners will begin their bid for consecutive league titles against a Coventry side returning to the top flight and determined to make an immediate statement.
Manchester United will begin their campaign on Saturday at 12:30pm with a trip to Hull City, while Ipswich Town host Sunderland and Everton welcome Crystal Palace at 3:00pm. The Everton-Crystal Palace encounter will be live on SuperSport Action on GOtv Channel 66 and DStv Channel 206.
Tottenham Hotspur then visit Brentford at 5:30pm in an all-London clash as the opening weekend gathers pace.
Sunday’s action begins at 2:00pm with Manchester City travelling to Bournemouth. The fixture will mark City’s first Premier League match under new manager Enzo Maresca following Pep Guardiola’s departure, providing an early opportunity to assess the new era at the Etihad.
One of the weekend’s biggest fixtures follows at 4:30pm when Newcastle United host Liverpool. Liverpool will also begin a new chapter under head coach Andoni Iraola, while Newcastle will look to capitalise on home advantage against the reigning Premier League challengers.
The opening round concludes on Monday at 8:00pm with Chelsea visiting Fulham for a West London derby.
