Arsenal, Newcastle set to break club records in battle of in-form sides

Two in-form sides, Arsenal and Newcastle will clash in a matchweek 19 Premier League fixture Tuesday at the Emirates stadium with both clubs seeking to break their respective club records.

Arsenal are the only team in the Premier League this season with their 100% home record still intact and can win their opening eight home matches of a top-flight season for the first time if they triumph Tuesday night.

The victory will take them to 46 points, eight above their closest rival, Manchester City who play Chelsea on Thursday.

Mikel Arteta’s men will also be aiming to equal a Premier League clean sheet record.

The Gunners have kept a total of 28 clean sheets against Newcastle in the Premier League, and one more would see them equal a competition record for the most shut-outs against a specific opponent held by Manchester United who have recorded 29 Premier League clean sheets against Tottenham.

Meanwhile, Eddie Howe’s Newcastle will be looking to break a club record by going 13 top-flight games unbeaten for the first time ever.

The Magpies are also aiming to win at both Arsenal and Tottenham in the same Premier League season for the first time since 2001/02.
