Aston Villa Vs Man City: Haaland targets another Premier League goal record

Erling Haaland can become the first player to score a hat-trick in three consecutive Premier League appearances when Manchester City visit Aston Villa on Saturday in a matchweek six fixture.

The Norwegian scored his second successive Etihad Stadium hat-trick as goal-hungry City thrashed Nottingham Forest 6-0 mid-week.

The 22 year old phenomenon completed his treble in the space of just 26 minutes, with Joao Cancelo and Julian Alvarez (2) on target after the break.

Haaland scored his first hat-trick when Manchester City hosted Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace at the Etihad stadium in a matchweek four fixture as the Cityzens recovered from two goals down to win 4-2.

After five matchweek five games, Haaland has scored more goals than 15 of the 20 Premier League teams so far this season.

The former Borussia Dortmund of Germany player has scored nine Premier League goals from just 105 touches so far, scoring one goal for every 12 touches. This is the fewest touches per goal by a player in a Premier League season (3+ goals) on record since 2003-04.

His first goal of three against Nottingham Forest was his 100th top-flight league goal in his career (now 102), which is made even more impressive by the fact that he only turned 22 years old in July.
