Athletics Heat Competition to Serve as Final Trial for National Sports Festival Selection
The Athletics Heat Competition scheduled for November 7, 2026, at Yaba College of Technology, Lagos, will serve as the final trial for selecting athletes to represent Lagos State at the National Sports Festival.
The Lagos State Athletics Association disclosed this in a message to stakeholders, urging them to inform athletes about the competition and encourage those yet to register to complete the process.
The association’s secretary stressed the importance of ensuring that the best athletes are selected to represent the state, emphasising fairness and the need to conduct the selection without favouritism.
The November 7 competition will therefore provide athletes with a final opportunity to stake their claim for places on the Lagos State team ahead of the National Sports Festival.
The association also thanked stakeholders for their commitment and dedication to ensuring that Lagos State fields its best athletes at the national competition.
