Aubameyang: ‘I have unfinished business in the Premier League’

Signs two year deal with Chelsea, to wear jersey number nine

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has spoken of his delight to be back in the Premier League after completing a move to Chelsea.

The 33-year-old has signed a two-year contract at Stamford Bridge, with the option of a further season, and arrives for a £12m fee while Marcos Alonso will join Barcelona.

It comes less than nine months after Aubameyang left the Premier League after having his contract terminated at Arsenal.

“I’m really happy, it’s an honour to be part of this team and I can’t wait to start,” Aubameyang said.

“I have some unfinished business with the Premier League so it’s good to be back and really exciting.”

Chelsea have had a record-breaking transfer window, with the Aubameyang move taking their spending to £273.5million for the summer.

Meanwhile, Aubameyang will wear the number nine jersey vacated by Romelu Lukaku earlier this summer, following his loan switch to Inter Milan.

Aubameyang wore the number 17 shirt at Barcelona this season, just as he did in the Bundesliga with Dortmund, while he took the 14 jersey during his time in the Premier League with Arsenal.

The Gabon international wore the number nine for part of his time at Saint Etienne and with Dijon in France.
