Awoniyi Headlines Premier League Player of Matchweek 35 Shortlist

Taiwo Awoniyi has been named among the seven contenders for Premier League Player of the Matchweek after inspiring Nottingham Forest’s crucial 3-1 victory over Chelsea.

In only his second start of the season, the Nigerian striker produced a complete centre-forward performance.

He opened the scoring with a powerful header inside two minutes, won a penalty converted by Igor Jesus, and added his second goal early in the second half to give Forest a vital boost in their fight for survival.

Awoniyi’s heroics put him firmly in contention, but he faces stiff competition from other standout performers across Matchweek 35:
