Barcelona and Chelsea agree Aubameyang swap deal

Barcelona and Chelsea have reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Sky Sports says Chelsea will pay 12 million euros, and Marcos Alonso is also going to be sent in the opposite direction, with the Catalans having been interested in signing the wing-back all summer.

Alonso touched down in Barcelona on Wednesday in anticipation of making a move to the Nou Camp.

Aubameyang’s sale will free up a lot of space around Barcelona’s salary expenses.

It will also open the door for a right-back to join, with Hector Bellerin and Thomas Meunier the targets.

Former Arsenal captain Aubameyang, meanwhile, is eager to ferry his family back to London after this week’s violent home robbery.

Aubameyang left the Gunners only in January, but has been encouraged to leave by Barca after the arrival of Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich.
