Bassey Still Nigeria’s Most Valuable Player in Fulham and England, Iwobi Slips

Calvin Bassey has reaffirmed his status as Nigeria’s most valuable footballer in England after retaining his €28 million valuation in Transfermarkt’s latest market value update.

The Fulham defender remains the club’s most prized asset and Nigeria’s third most valuable player worldwide, ranked 348th globally and 151st in the Premier League.

In contrast, Alex Iwobi’s valuation dropped from €25 million to €20 million, placing him fifth among Nigerian players worldwide and ninth within Fulham’s squad.

Globally, Iwobi now sits at 564th, while in the Premier League he is ranked 229th.

Elsewhere, Taiwo Awoniyi’s injury-hit season at Nottingham Forest saw his value slip from €9 million to €8 million.

His teammate Ola Aina also experienced a decline, falling to €18 million from a career-high €22 million in May 2025. Tolu Arokodare continued his downward trajectory, dropping from €22 million to €20 million after peaking at €25 million last October.

On a brighter note, Samuel Chukwueze enjoyed a resurgence, rising from €15 million to €18 million. His improved form places him seventh among Nigerian players worldwide, signaling a return to prominence after a challenging spell.
