Brighton Vs Leicester City: Iheanacho makes first start of the season

Kelechi Iheanacho is in Brendan Rodgers’ startying line up for the Foxes game at the Amex stadium against Brighton.

This will be the 26 year old Nigerian’s first start in five appearances for Leicester City this season after four substitute appearances.

It will also be third start in six Premier League games against their host.

The Nigerian will now be hoping he matches his first start with his first goal of the season and he willbe banking on his goal record against Graham Potter’s side to open his season’s goal account.

Iheanacho has scored twice and bagged an assist in seven games across all competitions against Brighton and will be hoping to score his second league goal at the Amex after netting in the Foxes’ 2-1 in March 2021.

The former Manchester City’s other goal came in the Foxes’ 1-0 FA Cup win in February 2021 at the King Power stadium.

He will however need to really be at his goalscoring best as he is facing the tightest defence in the Premier League so far this term.

No side has conceded fewer Premier League goals this season than Brighton (3). 67% of their goals conceded have come via own goals (2/3), with Aleksandar Mitrovic the only opposing player to net against the Seagulls so far this term.

Meanwhile, Wilfred Ndidi will also start his fifth game in six appearances for the Foxes.
