‘Bring me Tyson Fury!’: Anthony Joshua wants the Gypsy King after out-punching Franklin

Anthony Joshua wants to fight Tyson Fury next after he outpunched Jermaine Frankin for his first boxing win since 2021.

The British-Nigerian is hoping Fury may fancy a summer showdown with him after his unanimous win (118-111, 117-111, and 117-111) on Saturday night at the Q2 Arena in London.

“I know who the fans want. The ball is in his court and I would be honoured to fight for the WBC. Wherever you, are if you’re listening, we’ve had dialogue before so hopefully we can get this on sooner or later,” Joshua said after the fight.

Boxing fans have yearned for a Battle of Britain clash between Joshua and Fury for many years but have always been denied the one bout they most crave for a variety of issues.

Fury, the WBC heavyweight champion, and Joshua were in negotiations for a potential clash on December 3 last year but those talks hit a brick wall and Derek Chisora stepped in to fight Fury instead at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Fury is without an opponent for his next fight as negotiations with Oleksandr Usyk for an undisputed heavyweight clash continue to hit a brick wall.

The Gypsy King may now consider a fight with Joshua a realistic proposition once again.
