Broadfoot Hails Rangers’ ‘Unbelievable’ Nigerian Star Fernandez

Former Scotland and Rangers defender Kirk Broadfoot has hailed Nigeria international Emmanuel Fernandez as an ‘unbelievable’ player and a supreme all-round athlete.
Fernandez has faced occasional scrutiny during a demanding campaign but has continued to demonstrate the qualities that have made him an important figure for Rangers since joining from Peterborough United.
Broadfoot believes Rangers made a major statement by retaining the Super Eagles star during recent transfer windows, describing keeping the Nigerian as a significant piece of business for the Ibrox club.
‘I think a big one was keeping big Fernandez, keeping him here. He looks like an unbelievable player,’ Broadfoot told the Scotsman.
‘I just think he’s an all-round athlete. He’s good on the ball. He’s very good in the air. He’s confident.
‘He can probably do what he wants in the game, to be honest. He is the type of player that people look for.’
Fernandez’s combination of physical strength, aerial ability, confidence and composure on the ball has made him one of Rangers’ key players, with Broadfoot convinced the Nigerian possesses the attributes required to operate at the highest level.
