Buruk: Osimhen as Important to Us as Mbappé to Madrid

Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk has provided an official update on Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen, who recently returned to training after undergoing surgery for a broken arm.

Speaking to reporters before a training session open to fans, Buruk confirmed that Osimhen had resumed full participation and looked comfortable.

‘Osimhen did his training comfortably, he had no problems. Osimhen is one of the players here. I trust all my players. Osimhen’s participation in training is a positive thing. It increases our energy. Today and tomorrow we will look at it and decide whether to take him to Ankara or not,’ Buruk said.

Buruk emphasized the striker’s significance to the team, comparing his role to that of global stars at other clubs.

‘This is Victor Osimhen’s third injury. Some players are very important to teams. Osimhen is an important player for Galatasaray, what Mbappé is to Real Madrid and Harry Kane is to Bayern Munich. In this sense, Osimhen is very important,’ he explained.

Despite the challenges of injuries and fatigue, Buruk underlined the squad’s determination to secure the league title.

‘That’s why there may be injuries and mental fatigue, but we are hungry, eager and want to be champions. The players want it more than me,’ he added.

Osimhen’s availability for the upcoming Gençlerbirliği match remains uncertain, with the final decision expected after further assessment in training.
