Calvin Bassey: Bring On The Blacks Stars of Ghana

Rangers of Scotland versatile defender Calvin Bassey says he is ready to give his best if featured in Friday’s 202 FIFA World Cup playoff tie against Ghana this Friday in Kumasi.

Bassey is also hoping to finally make his debut for Nigeria after he was left out of the Super Eagles list for the last Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroun.

“It’s a massive game of course. It’s just focusing on how I can help the team, what I need to do, what my role is going to be,” Bassey told NFF TV on Tuesday.

“The biggest thing is just to focus and get locked in because it’s going to be a test.

“We know they are a good team but we also have good players so it’d be a good match, and hopefully we can get halfway there.”

Bassey has started in 38 of the 39 games he has played for Rangers so far this term across all competitions including starting all 25 games he featured in in the Scottish Premiership.

The 22 year old played all 90 minutes in all 25 games and has bagged five assists.
